Fareed Zakaria is a journalist, author, and political scientist. As host of Fareed Zakaria GPS: Global Public Square, CNN’s Emmy-nominated global affairs program, he has interviewed top political minds and heads of state, from US President Barack Obama and French President Emmanuel Macron to Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
His books include The Post-American World and The Future of Freedom, which grapple with a world of rising great powers, where illiberal forces are on the march in the US and abroad. Fareed is a weekly Washington Post columnist and contributing editor at The Atlantic; he previously served as the managing editor of Foreign Affairs, editor of Newsweek, and editor-at-large of Time.
Jared Cohen is the CEO of Jigsaw, Google’s unit working to address technological challenges to global security. Jigsaw projects include efforts to address online disinformation, surveillance, censorship, and violent extremism. Jared previously worked at the State Department’s Policy Planning Committee from 2006-2010, where he served as a close advisor to Secretaries of State Condoleeza Rice and Hillary Clinton, and worked under the Special Representative to Afghanistan and Pakistan, Richard Holbrooke.
Jared is the co-author, with former Google CEO Eric Schmidt, of The New Digital Age: Re-shaping the Future of People, Nations and Business. His other books include One Hundred Days of Silence: America and the Rwandan Genocide, and Children of Jihad.
