Lead Recruiter

Schmidt Futures is looking for an outstanding Lead Recruiter to manage our end-to-end recruiting process for both our general hiring and our major talent initiatives, including the Schmidt APM program and the Schmidt Entrepreneur-in-Residence (EIR) program. The role will be responsible for job scoping and posting, candidate sourcing, initial screening, interview coordination, and candidate experience.  The recruiters role will include: 

  • Designing and coordinating the overall recruiting strategy, under the supervision of the Schmidt Futures leadership team
  • Managing the candidate experience to ensure a positive engagement with Schmidt Futures for all potential applicants
  • Coordinating teams in support of our recruitment for major talent initiatives

Key Responsibilities

Recruiting Administration and Coordination  

  • Design and implement overall recruiting strategy
  • Develop and update job descriptions and job specifications
  • Perform job and task analysis to document job requirements and objectives
  • Prepare recruitment materials and post jobs to appropriate job board/newspapers/colleges etc
  • Source and recruit candidates by using referral networks, partners, databases, social media, and other tools
  • Screen candidates resumes and job applications
  • Conduct interviews using various reliable recruiting and selection tools/methods to filter candidates within schedule
  • Assess applicants’ relevant knowledge, skills, soft skills, experience and aptitudes
  • Coordinate the interview process with Schmidt Futures team members
  • Coordinate all hiring team meetings during the recruitment process

Candidate Experience 

  • Act as a point of contact and build influential candidate relationships during the selection process
  • Promote company’s reputation by ensuring positive interactions with all candidates
  • Develop processes and evaluations to ensure continuous improvement of our recruiting process
  • Develop best practices to optimize candidate experience throughout our recruiting process

Talent Program Coordination

  • Design and implement recruiting processes in support of major talent initiatives, including the APM and EIR programs
  • Manage the screening process to develop short lists of candidates
  • Coordinate all team interviews during the selection process
  • Complete all necessary administrative tasks in support of the selection process
  • Support the program leads in refining the selection process for the initiatives

Requirements

Applicants must:

  • Have at least 2 years of work experience in a recruiting role
  • Have demonstrated teamwork ability and record of impact in high-intensity, team-based environments
  • Have the highest integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality at the highest levels.
  • Be based at the Schmidt Futures offices in New York and be able to travel within the U.S. and internationally on a regular basis as needed.
