Empowering Exceptional Talent

Overview

Betting early on the world’s most talented people and empowering them to solve the world’s most pressing problems.

Outstanding talent drives the pace and scale of global progress, but many of the world’s most talented people are under-utilized for public benefit because they go undiscovered, are inefficiently matched to early development opportunities, fail to find networks that support them in working together or increasing their impact, or retreat to safety in careers with known development paths and greater financial return.

Schmidt Futures works to overcome these obstacles by empowering the world’s most exceptional people and creating talent pipelines that traverse fields. This vision permeates all of our work in driving progress on Scientific Knowledge, Technology and Society, and Shared Prosperity.

Approach

01

Empower exceptional talent for global impact

We find outstanding young talent everywhere in the world and increase their lifetime potential for global impact for public benefit — both separately and together.

02

Engage major institutions for global impact

We empower talent-seeking organizations (universities, fellowships, employers) to more accurately recognize talent, improve talent retention and development, and provide greater opportunities to work for public good.

03

Create a more efficient market for values-based work to help others

Through the power of network scale, we build platforms to reinforce and recognize extraordinary people who serve others with compassion, humility, cleverness, and grit.

As part of our mission to empower exceptional talent, Schmidt Futures is also recruiting for a number of exciting positions on our team.  Explore these positions here and find out how to apply.

We provide them the mentorship, network, and teams to create and execute advanced computing platforms to address challenges in healthcare, education, and other fields.
