Dave Vorhaus is a Manager, Program Implementation and Operations at Schmidt Futures, working to execute on a number of the organization’s core programs. In this role, Dave helps drive the overall strategic vision of the organization and implement key initiatives that support that vision, including the Schmidt Science Fellows program.
Prior to Schmidt Futures, Dave served in the White House during the Obama Administration as Special Assistant to the President and Senior Policy Advisor to the Office of the Chief of Staff. In this role, he drove strategic planning across the Administration, and worked to implement a number of the President’s key policy priorities, including enforcement and reform of the nation’s immigration system, improving the delivery of health care and benefits for our nation’s veterans, and hardening cybersecurity infrastructure and practices. He also served in a number of roles within the White House Office of Management and Budget, overseeing the implementation of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, setting government-wide policy on financial management, information technology, procurement and personnel, and acting as a senior advisor to the Director. Prior to this, Dave worked as an Expert Advisor at the Federal Communications Commission and a Senior Analyst at The Yankee Group, analyzing emergent trends in telecommunications in both the public and private sector.
Dave holds a B.A. in Political Science and History from the University of Pennsylvania.
