Frank Long is a Fellow at Schmidt Futures focused on the geopolitical impact of the rise of the Chinese tech ecosystem.
Previously he was a Product Manager at Google where he worked on the Knowledge Engine team within the SRMI organization (Search, Research, and Machine Intelligence), as well as the augmented reality team within the Geo organization (Google Maps).
While at Google Frank began writing analysis on Chinese tech as a side project, starting with a presentation titled “China Rises” that went viral and became one of the most viewed tech talks in company history. Afterwards, he began consulting about Chinese tech with senior executives within Alphabet, and sharing his thoughts to an email list followed by >1100 Googlers.
Frank graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a dual degree in Computer Science and Finance, and is a fluent Mandarin speaker.
