Yonadav Shavit is an Associate at Schmidt Futures, where he develops AI-related policy based on technical insights.
Yonadav is currently on leave from his PhD in Computer Science at Harvard’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, where he researched the “gaming” incentives generated by transparent machine learning systems and how they can be harnessed for the benefit of users. His work has been published at the International Conference on Machine Learning and the IEEE Journal of Robotics and Automation Letters. He previously worked as a machine learning consultant for Upwork Inc., and was a founding member of the climate nonprofit ClimateVoice.
Yonadav holds a B.S. (’16) and an M.Eng. (’18) in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where his thesis centered on model-based reinforcement learning.
